Hello, My name is Aliya Sage

I have always engaged with the world through pictures. As a child, I was drawn to the vivid illustrations and stories in the books I read and often used my own drawings to process my experiences with the world around me. Now, I am thoroughly convinced of the power of art as a storytelling medium that can communicate deep truth and goodness through the winsome invitation of beauty. This conviction stems from a deeper one; my faith in the ultimate Artist. The truth of the story of Jesus Christ is what I strive to build my life upon and is the primary influence behind my art.

These convictions compell me into an ever-deepening love of learning, teaching, and cultivating beauty in whatever manner I can. I earned my BA from Hillsdale College in 2022  and have enjoyed over six years of discipling children in their creativity through art instruction. My own art is informed by the historical, the literary, the philosophical, and the spiritual. And while I look forward to a life marked by simplicity, I relish any opportunity to rigorously hone my craft.
